Purchasing & Prints
What print sizes are available?
Standard sizes run from 11x14 up to 40x60 inches—11x14, 16x20, 20x24, 24x30, 30x40, and 40x60. Custom sizes are available if you need something specific. If you're not sure what size works for a particular wall, the space preview service can show you before you commit.
How long do prints last?
Over a hundred years with proper care. The materials are the same used by museums—archival pigment inks and premium papers that hold their color over time. Every print ships with care instructions so you know exactly what's needed to protect it long-term.
What's included with my purchase?
Every print ships with a certificate of authenticity, detailed care instructions, and professional packaging designed to protect it in transit. Limited editions include numbered documentation confirming its place in the edition.
Do you offer custom framing?
Yes. Museum-quality frames with UV-protective glazing and acid-free matting are available in a range of finishes. For large pieces, we'll coordinate with your installer to make sure everything arrives and hangs correctly.
Are these limited edition prints?
Most prints are limited editions—once the edition is complete, no more prints of that image are made. Each comes numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Edition sizes vary by image; the details are listed on each print's page.
Print Quality & Materials
What printing process do you use?
Each print is made to order using professional archival printing, color-calibrated to match the original film transparency. Every print gets an individual quality inspection before it ships—nothing goes out that I wouldn't put on my own wall.
What print media options are available?
Three options. ImageTech Photo Gloss paper delivers the classic fine art look and requires framing. ChromaLuxe Metal mounts directly to aluminum—vivid, durable, no glass needed. Lumachrome Acrylic gives the deepest color and a striking three-dimensional quality. Each one looks different enough that it's worth reading the individual format pages if you're deciding between them.
How do large format film prints compare to digital?
A 4x5 sheet of film has 13 times the surface area of a 35mm negative—that's a lot of information captured in one exposure. When you make a large print from that negative, the detail holds in a way that most digital files at equivalent sizes can't match. Film also gives these prints an organic quality that looks distinctly different up close. You notice it most at 30x40 and larger.
Can I see a print before purchasing?
Yes. If you're in the Phoenix area, you're welcome to schedule a viewing appointment to see prints in person. For everyone else, the space preview service lets you see a specific print placed in your actual room before ordering. Corporate and trade clients can arrange sample consultations for larger projects.
Shipping & Delivery
How are prints shipped?
Prints ship flat in acid-free packaging with rigid backing via FedEx or UPS, fully tracked and insured. Larger prints over 30 inches may require freight shipping—if that applies to your order, we'll discuss it before anything ships.
What is your shipping policy?
Domestic shipping runs $25–75 depending on size. All prints are custom produced to order—production plus shipping typically takes 2–4 weeks. All prints are insured during transit. If you need something by a specific date, reach out before ordering and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, worldwide. All international shipments include customs documentation, tracking, and insurance. Import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility—rates vary by country, and your local customs office can give you an estimate before you order if that's a concern.
What if my print arrives damaged?
Get in touch right away and photograph the damage before repackaging anything—that documentation helps with the insurance claim. We'll handle the claim and send a replacement at no cost to you. A damaged print is the one thing we guarantee a fast resolution on.
Photography & Care
What equipment do you use for large format photography?
The 4x5 work is shot on Arca-Swiss view cameras with Schneider and Nikkor lenses. Film choice depends on the subject—Velvia 50 for saturated desert color, Kodak T-Max for black and white, Provia when a scene calls for something more neutral. The full kit breakdown is in the blog.
Where are these photographs taken?
Primarily the American Southwest—Arizona, Utah (Zion, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Arches), Death Valley, Yosemite, Joshua Tree, and the Colorado mountains. A lot of this work comes from places I've returned to many times, so the images represent particular conditions at particular moments, not just the famous viewpoint on a clear day.
How should I display and care for my print?
Keep it away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and big temperature swings. UV-protective glazing helps preserve color on paper prints over time. Kitchens and bathrooms are the two rooms to avoid—moisture and fumes shorten print life. Metal and acrylic prints are more forgiving on that front. Every print ships with care instructions specific to its medium.
Can I request a specific crop or aspect ratio?
Custom crops are possible in some cases, though the original compositions were made with specific proportions in mind and cropping changes that relationship. If you're working around a particular wall dimension, a quick consultation usually finds a better solution than cropping. Happy to talk through it before you order.
Custom Services
Do you work with interior designers and architects?
Yes, and it's a significant part of the work. Consultations are available, custom sizing goes up to 60 inches, bulk pricing applies for multiple prints, and I can coordinate with your installation team. The interior design and trade page has the full details on what's available.
Can you create custom sizes for my space?
Yes, up to 60 inches wide. Custom sizing adds 7–14 days to production. If you're working to fit a specific wall, a quick consultation before ordering makes the process smoother—we can confirm dimensions, aspect ratio, and format options before anything goes to print.
Do you offer bulk pricing for multiple prints?
Yes. Discounts start at three or more prints, and corporate clients receive extended licensing and installation support as part of the package. Reach out with the number of pieces and general sizes you're considering and I'll put together a quote.
Can I commission custom photography work?
Limited commissions are available, primarily for corporate and hospitality projects with enough lead time to plan properly. The work involves scouting, multiple trips, and waiting for the right conditions—it can't be rushed. If you have a project in mind, reach out with the details and we can talk through whether it's a good fit.
